The Bitting Room - Bit Hire
Find the perfect bit for your horse with our 21-day horse bit hire service. Test a bit at home or in competition before deciding to buy. Pay a refundable deposit, ride in the bit, and return it using the prepaid satchel included.
All bits & headstalls are cleaned and disinfected before hire.
 
  • BITS ARE NOT TO BE REMOVED FROM HEADSTALL. HEADSTALLS ARE FULLY ADJUSTABLE AND WILL FIT A WIDE RANGE OF HORSES AND PONIES.

Hire Period
    • You can hire a bit for 21 days.
    • The hire period starts when tracking confirms you’ve collected the parcel.

  • 
Deposit and Payment
    • Bit hire is $30 non-refundable with a $100 refundable deposit. *Conditions Apply
    • When the hire bit and headstall are returned, your deposit is refunded. *Conditions Apply
    • We process refundable deposit to your original payment method.

  • 
Postage and Packaging
    • We provide a prepaid return satchel with every hire.
    • You must post the bit and headstall back on or before the 21st day of hire.
    • You must send proof of lodgement to The Western Collective by email at info@thewesterncollective.com.au or by text to 0452477651.
    • We charge a late fee of $10 for each day the bit and headstall are not posted back after your 21-day hire period is up.
    • We are not responsible for bits lost in the post on return. If bits are “lost” you will receive an invoice for the RRP of that bit and headstall.

Refunds and Fees
    • Hire fee: $30 - Non-refundable.
    • *Cleaning fee: If the bit is returned uncleaned by visible debris 10% of your refundable deposit will be retained.
    • *Damage fee: If the bit is returned damaged and not in the same condition you received it, 100% of your refundable deposit will be retained.

Condition of Bit and Headstall
    • Bits and headstalls must be returned in clean condition.
    • Every bit and headstall are sterilised before hire.
    • Photographs are taken before dispatch to record condition.

  • 
Non-Return
    • If the bit is not returned, an invoice will be sent to the hirer for the RRP of the bit & headstall, if payment is not received within 7 days, legal action will be taken.

Purchase Discount
    • If you decide to purchase an L&W Bit after your trial, we will give you a one-time only 10% off discount code, please contact us via email, text or social media for the discount code.

“Out of Stock” means already out on hire. If you request a “Notify When Available” you will be emailed when it arrives back in store and ready for hire. This will be a first in best dressed basis. All bit trialling and hiring must be done via the website.
